The GL-Class earned the golden calipers by offering a vast assortment of powertrain options, muscular styling, and a gorgeous interior. The GL-Class comes in four different trim levels, all of which come standard with a seven-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The BAS®e model is the GL350 BlueTEC®, which is powered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 that makes 240 hp and an impressive 455 lb-ft of torque. The GL350 boasts the best fuel economy of the GL range, with an EPA rating of 19/26 mpg city/highway. A step up the ladder is the GL450, which has a 4.7-liter twin-turbo V-8 under the hood that makes 362 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. The GL450 is rated at 14/19 mpg. The GL550 is also powered by a 4.7-liter twin-turbo V-8, but this version makes 429 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The GL550 is EPA rated at 13/18 mpg.
